The Bill Douglas Memorial Trophy is awarded each year to someone who deserves recognition for their contribution to SFAA Field Archery in Scotland. Nominations are requested from which the Directors of the SFAA will select this year’s winner.
The nomination must be made by an SFAA Member(s) for an individual who has provided an outstanding contribution, service to the association or an outstanding example of sportsmanship within Field Archery in Scotland, to the SFAA, or an archery club affiliated to the SFAA.
Here are a few examples of what may be considered;
- someone who has provided an outstanding service to the association or your club. They are always there to provide help wherever and whenever it's needed, they may or may not be an archer, but they deserve recognition for their outstanding work and support to the sport.
- an archer who has applied themselves in an exemplary way over the last year. i.e. taking part whilst dealing with a major physical/medical challenge.
- someone who has performed an outstanding example of good sportsmanship worthy of recognition.
I'm sure you can think of other reasons and some very worthy candidates so come on SFAA Members please come forward with your nominations. It's about those who go that extra mile to help to support or develop the sport or provide a shining example for others to follow. There may be other SFAA or Club members who think likewise so get them to send in a nomination as well. The more nominations that are received the better.
