The SFAA Board would like to announce the updated Limit Scores for the Field and Indoor Championship.
This has been the subject of much debate and all SFAA members were asked to input through their Clubs.
The outcome is based on all SFAA Membership feedback through Club reps is as follows:
- Limit Scores are to remain in place for all divisions except Cub & Junior (Limits only apply when there is only a single competitor in any division (no Change)).
- The current limit scores were seen to disadvantage some bow styles (need for change).
- A new formula for the Limit Scores needs to be derived (discussed at Board - refer below).
- The Limit Scores will be published in each shoot Protocol.
New Limit Score Procedure was discussed and agreed by the SFAA Board on 10 Oct 19.
- The SFAA Limit Score will be used to award Gold and Champion in a Scottish Championship.
- Where there is only one competitor in a Division the limit is based on 80% of the latest three scores recorded at a Scottish Championship.
Or, if there is insufficient data then:
- 80% of the what is currently held on Championship Records, with the remaining scores to make up three (being taken from the last three Club Classification Field & Hunter Rounds held in 2018-19, or in the case of Indoor, from the Winter League 2018-19).
- If there are still less than three recorded scores in any division then 80% of an A Class Score will apply.
Applicable to Adult, Veteran Age Groups (Senior not currently used by the SFAA).
The above proposal was accepted to go forward to be included in the Shoot Protocols for The Field & Indoor Championships (Bowhunter has no limit score currently, due to too many variables) for 2020 onward.
